The Heart-Centered Empath
The Heart-Centered Empath is probably the most commonly labeled of empaths because they FEEL the emotions of others. Those feelings manifest most often in the heart or in the gut, but can also be experienced at skin level.
A Heart-Centered Empath will feel the swelling of emotions and the energy from others and will often assign a tactile description for them: warm, cold, shivers, burn, etc.
They may not understand what the emotion actually is at first.
They feel the emotion, and then they must concentrate on it to understand exactly what that emotion is.
It takes time for them to separate their emotions from the emotions of others, and even more time to discover and label what kind of emotion it is.
Emotional overwhelm for a Heart-Centered Empath can be a sudden burst of emotions and tears and when asked what is wrong, they will often say “I don’t know!” The emotions have burst, but they don’t bring any understanding.
Emotions can pierce their heart, hit their gut, cause shivers and goosebumps across their skin. They can feel like they are suffocating under the negative energy or emotions of others.
A Heart-Centered Empath will often avoid too much violence on tv because they can literally feel the abuse that occurs on the screen in their own bodies… and their bodies will twinge in association when someone around them gets hurt as well.
More than the other types of Empaths, the Heart-Centered Empath NEEDS to take time to meditate and tap into the feelings they are experiencing. They must address those feelings and wait patiently for the emotions to start expressing themselves. By doing this, they will gain the skills to be able to feel which ones are theirs, which ones are other peoples, and begin to take control of what to do with them.
Because they process the energies around them in terms of feelings, they need to learn to understand the “feel” of the energies around them. Once they can identify the feeling associated with the energy, they can call that feeling up and give it instructions.
Using their gift for feeling the frequencies around them, they can use shielding techniques and meditative techniques in order to create the environment that is truly comfortable to them.
Even though this kind of Empath takes more time to really identify what is going on with their emotions, once identified, there is a depth of confidence and power in them. With practice and an increase of skill, a Heart-Centered Empath can quickly identify changes in their body that indicate issues and move to resolve it.
These kinds of Empaths must be careful because they may often try to ignore the emotions in favor of functioning on a “logical” level. Because their brain processes through feelings, it is using those feelings to give further feedback.
Learning to stop and identify the feelings, asking them where they came from, what message they have, and what they need will allow the Heart-Centered Empath to properly process the emotions that they experience and gain wisdom from them.
If you are a Heart-Centered Empath, you will need to find ways to evoke your feelings in order to connect with your subconscious mind. So find meditations that walk you through the feelings of things. Remember it often takes focused time to bring the Feeling connection to full power, so give yourself that time.
